An extremist group named Karni Sena had threatened Deepika Padukone with physical harm if the Movie release is not stopped . The group leader said that Rajputs never raise their hands on Woman . But It can be done if the film is released and we will do the same thing what Laxman did against Shurpnakha in Ramayana by cutting her nose. The group called for a nationwide bandh on 1st December the date stated for movie release.

The threat had given cover to Deepika as security at her office and at her going on movie shoot.The movie portrays a love relationship between Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji the conqueror Badshah of Malwa, .

Centre Minister Uma Bharti had said that it is the duty of the administration to ensure the security for Deepika Padukone.
But the chief Minister of Rajasthan Mrs. Raje had not commented any thing on this issue although the Karni sena had asked the government to stop the movie release before 17th Nov. .
Earlier to this the group had vandalized a cinema hall in Kota on Padmavati’s teaser release.
One group had started blood signature campaign to stop the release of the Movie.

Rajasthan home minister Gulab Chand Katariya said that Rani Pamini was a honoured personality of the state and whole of Rajasthan respect that but still I request every one not to disturb the peace of the state and one should not take the laws in their hand.
